ITINERARY
Day 1:
ARRIVAL KILIMANJARO - ARUSHA
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your pre-arranged hotel in Arusha. Here, you will meet your driver guide who will provide you with a briefing about your upcoming safari. You can then relax and prepare for the adventure ahead. Your accommodation includes breakfast.
DAY 2:
LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Your initial stop in the national parks takes you to one of the smaller yet most visually appealing ones. Within the forest, you'll encounter elephants and extensive groups of baboons, and if fortune smiles upon you, even lions known for their tree-climbing habits. The expansive soda lake surroundings host a diverse array of wildlife, including buffalos, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and flamingos. For exceptional hippo sightings, the shallow Hippo Pool is a prime location, and you'll be treated to a breathtaking view of the Rift Valley Escarpment.
Lake Manyara presents an excellent opportunity to blend game drives with enjoyable activities, such as cultural tours, mountain bike excursions, or canopy walks.
DAY 3:
NGORONGORO CRATER
In the early morning, you embark on a drive from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The route takes you across the Great Rift Valley, through the forest within the crater, and finally to the captivating Ngorongoro Crater. This collapsed volcano stands as the prominent feature of the region, fostering a distinctive ecosystem teeming with diverse vegetation. Revel in the stunning hues of the landscapes and the rich tapestry of wildlife. The crater boasts the highest concentration of wildlife on the African continent and is teeming with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and even the elusive black rhino. It ranks among the finest places for encountering the entire Big Five. The vistas from the crater rim, looking out over the crater floor, are nothing short of breathtaking. Owing to its natural splendor, the Ngorongoro Crater holds the distinction of being selected as one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area offers a range of activities to engage in, including the option to visit a Maasai village.
DAY 4:
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Today, following your morning meal, you set off for a full day of game driving in Tarangire National Park. This park, relatively less recognized among Tanzania's reserves, still exudes an authentic safari ambiance. The undulating terrain, adorned with majestic Baobab trees set against the backdrop of a vivid blue sky, is truly inspiring. Prepare to witness the world's largest gathering of elephants, as herds of up to 300 elephants often congregate around the Tarangire River, either quenching their thirst or indulging in a mud bath. In addition to elephants, Tarangire proves to be a haven for bird enthusiasts. Within the vicinity of the wetlands, you may also encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, and even pythons that are known for their tree-climbing prowess.
DAY 5:
BACK TO ARUSHA/AIRPORT DROP OFF
After breakfast, the game drive continues until lunchtime. Following lunch, you will pack up and prepare for your return journey to Arusha and Kilimanjaro International Airport.
