HIKING KILIMANJARO

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that's undeniably enticing, which explains its prominent position on people's wish lists globally. The formidable Mount Kilimanjaro, standing tall at an impressive 19,341 feet (5,895 meters), holds the title of Africa's highest peak and the world's tallest standalone mountain. While some of the mountain's trails may seem challenging, having a skilled guide by your side ensures that you don't have to be an experienced climber to conquer its summit.

PICK YOUR ROUTE: QUICK GUIDE

  • BEST FOR BEGINNERS – MARANGU OR MACHAME ROUTES

  • SPECTACULAR SCENERY – LEMOSHO OR MACHAME ROUTES

  • BEGINNERS WITH A BUDGET – MARANGU ROUTE

  • FOR MODERATE HIKERS – MACHAME OR LEMOSHO ROUTES

An expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu route can be completed in just 6 days, making it a relatively short and cost-effective option. It is also the most favored route among climbers, providing accommodation in huts rather than tents. However, it's important to note that this route involves significant daily elevation gains, so a strong level of physical fitness is essential.

This route has earned the distinction of being considered the most picturesque climbing path due to its stunning trails, breathtaking views, and the awe-inspiring Barranco wall. Additionally, this route provides great acclimatization for breathing.

The Lemosho route is our preferred choice, boasting the highest rate of successful ascents. This is attributed to its initial starting point at 3,500 meters, offering a relatively level beginning to the expedition. The final stretch of this route aligns with that of the Machame route.

This brief journey is tailored for those who enjoy hiking but not quite interested in an overnight experience. During this one-day excursion, you'll embark on a hike along the Marangu Route, taking you up to the Mandara Hut. This trip typically takes about 6-7 hours. Some may wonder.. if you are literally climbing. The answer is no. Expect a high elevation trek on slightly uneven grounds.
